Our Process

Expression Service Workflow

Systematic approach from gene design to purified protein, with screening at every step

1

Gene & Clone

We start with your sequence or gene template. Services include gene synthesis with codon optimization, sub-cloning into expression vectors, and sequence verification.

2

Small-Scale Screening

96-well format expression screening tests multiple strains, temperatures, induction times, and media to identify optimal expression conditions before scale-up.

3

Scale-Up & Production

Based on screening results, we scale up in shake flasks or bioreactors. Includes monitoring of growth, induction optimization, and harvest timing to maximize yield.

4

Purification & QC

Automated purification using affinity chromatography, ion exchange, and SEC. All proteins undergo SDS-PAGE analysis and endotoxin testing where applicable.

Why CD Biosynsis

What Sets Our Expression Platform Apart

High-Throughput Screening

96-well format screening tests up to 48 conditions simultaneously. Identify the best expression conditions in days, not weeks, before committing to large-scale production.

Rapid Turnaround

Standard expression projects complete in 3-4 weeks. Our established protocols for common tags and expression systems enable fast turnaround without sacrificing quality.

Difficult Protein Expertise

We have extensive experience with membrane proteins, multi-domain complexes, kinases, and proteins with disulfide bonds. Our screening approach finds what works for your specific target.

Endotoxin Management

For E. coli expressed proteins, we offer different endotoxin specifications through additional purification steps. Endotoxin testing is included in our standard QC package.

FAQ

Common Questions

Standard delivery includes quality-verified purity. Higher purity levels are available through additional chromatography steps. For structural biology, we offer gel-filtration polishing to remove aggregates and deliver monodisperse protein.

Yes. We have extensive experience with membrane proteins, multi-domain complexes, kinases, and proteins with disulfide bonds. Our screening approach systematically tests multiple conditions to find what works for your specific target.

For E. coli expressed proteins, we offer different endotoxin specifications through additional purification steps. Endotoxin testing is included in our standard QC package, with reduced levels available upon request.

Yes. Standard characterization includes SDS-PAGE, mass spectrometry (MW confirmation), and concentration determination. Additional services include circular dichroism (CD), thermal stability (DSF), SEC-MALS for aggregation, and binding assays.

The choice depends on your protein type and application. E. coli is fastest and most cost-effective for simple proteins. Yeast offers eukaryotic modifications and secreted expression. Mammalian cells are best for therapeutic proteins requiring authentic human glycosylation. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
